Our Meeting Community

Join us!

South Seattle Friends Meeting consists of members, regular attenders, newcomers, and guests. Among us are long time Quakers, as well as seekers from other religious backgrounds. We are believers and nonbelievers, questioning and resolved.

South Seattle Friends Meeting grew out of a worship group under the care of Seattle’s University Friends Meeting. What began as a small group of south-end residents meeting monthly in one another’s homes is now an independent Monthly Meeting.

Our Monthly Meeting is part of Pacific Northwest Quarterly Meeting and North Pacific Yearly Meeting

We have an active ministry in addressing racism and violence in our community and in the world, in keeping with the Quaker testimonies on Equality and Peace. We have approved the following minutes as part of that ministry. Our minute urging passage of HR 40 (Reparations) is highlighted on our Welcome Page. Please contact the Uprooting Racism Committee for further information.
